Green Advantage Seeks SCIP Advisor

Looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Green Advantage wants you!

Green Advantage is an international, non-profit educational and credentialing organization that trains and credentials construction personnel to deliver resilient construction prior to and in the recovery from major disasters. They offer training and certifications for construction supervisors and construction field personnel to deliver state-of-the-art high performance, healthy buildings.

SCIP members have long served as advisors to Green Advantage, bringing current building practices and real-world expertise to the credential development programs. Our current representative, Dave Metzger, is stepping back after almost nine years advising Green Advantage. Here’s where you come in!

We are looking for a SCIP member who would be excited about this opportunity to help Green Advantage. The time commitment should not be more than one or two days a year. The advisory board meets virtually approximately twice a year, for about 1-1/2 hours each time, to review and discuss items such as study guides, and types and methods of training. There may be interim reviews of learning objectives and other documentation. It’s a worthwhile way to help shape these programs, and to keep current with credentialing and testing methods.

If you are interested in being the SCIP representative, contact Vivian Volz.
